Exercise “Arm Pull – Induction”

Watch the video a few times and write down the instructions
Find a test person with whom you can perform the following steps:

  1. Stand in front of the test person in an adapted position. Place one leg behind you as a support so that you can catch and hold your test subject if necessary. Not too far away from your subject.
  2. Perform the shorter form of Elman induction in full.
  3. Tell him to put his feet together.
  4. Tell him to stand firmly and securely on his feet at all times.
  5. Give him your hand as if greeting him.
  6. Look closely at your subject between his eyes without blinking.
  7. Tell your subject to take a deep breath in and out.
  8. As he exhales, pull gently on his hand and let it fall.
  9. At the same time, give him the command “Sleep”.
  10. Pay attention to where you want to pull his head.
  11. Remember, your subject goes into hypnosis very quickly. Hold him.
  12. Use a deepening technique immediately.
  13. Give him some positive suggestions.
  14. Then tell your subject that they can open their eyes again as soon as they want to.
  15. After the exercise, ask your subject how they felt.

Attention

Make sure that your subject is sitting securely on a chair (cannot tip forward). Have him take off his glasses and remove chewing gum from his mouth, if available.

Contact lenses should also be avoided. As the eyes move back and forth behind the eyelids in a hypnotic state, the contact lenses could slip out of place. That would be a little uncomfortable for your subject.
