Exercise: “Silent induction”

You do not need a script to complete this exercise. Watch the video a few times. There is no speaking at all during induction.

Find a test person with whom you can carry out the following steps:

  1. Explain what you expect from your subject.
  2. Ask for permission to touch his arm and hand.
  3. Hold your subject’s right hand so that the arm is slightly free in the air.
  4. Make sure that the subject does not help you to lift his arm.
  5. Stare at your subject right between their eyes without blinking.
  6. Go into a trance yourself, breathing more and more calmly so that your subject can hear the sounds of your breathing.
  7. As soon as he closes his eyes, drop his arm. and go into a trance.
  8. Then tell your subject that he can open his eyes again as soon as he wants to.
  9. After the exercise, ask your subject how they felt.

Do your experience and just see what happens. Be convinced that it works. This leaves your subject no room for doubt.

Attention

Make sure that your test person is sitting securely on a chair (cannot tip forward). Have him take off his glasses and remove chewing gum from his mouth, if available.

Contact lenses should also be avoided. As the eyes move back and forth behind the eyelids in a hypnotic state, the contact lenses could slip out of place. That would be a little uncomfortable for your subject.
