Exercise “Smiley Induction”

Watch the video a few times and write down the instructions. Induction is very pleasant for the subject, but also for the hypnotist. You don’t have to say anything. Just make sure that your index finger is at a certain distance (approx. 60 cm) from the subject and at an angle of about 45 degrees above their forehead.

Find a test subject with whom you can carry out the following steps:

  1. Have your test subject sit on a chair.
  2. Draw a smiley face on your index finger.
  3. Stand slightly in front of and next to your subject, not too far away.
  4. Perform the induction without words.
  5. Mention the word “sleep” as soon as you touch his forehead.
  6. Immediately use a deepening technique.
  7. Give him some positive suggestions.
  8. Then tell your subject that they can open their eyes again as soon as they want to.
  9. After the exercise, ask your subject how they felt.

Attention

Make sure that your subject is sitting securely on a chair (cannot tip forward). Have him take off his glasses and remove chewing gum from his mouth, if available.

Contact lenses should also be avoided. As the eyes move back and forth behind the eyelids in a hypnotic state, the contact lenses could slip out of place. That would be a little uncomfortable for your subject.
